Question for the day: How many different kinds of love are there?

What can we pray with YOU about today?

Good morning,

This is just a reminder that every day, while we are studying God’s Word to add to our website, someone from our ministry, Dysmas Conduit, is holding you up before the Lord in prayer. May He greatly bless you today as you pursue His will and He is glorified through you.

God’s blessings, our love,

George & Sidney Granger

CURRENT PRAYER REQUESTS:

From Christine Babel- Henderson

My daughter in law’s niece, Harmony, was born at full term weighing 2lbs 3oz. She was born without a spine, having water on the brain, a club foot, only one valve to her heart... the Drs. said she needed some kind of surgery done because she has no spine, if she does not have it she will be in a great deal of pain. She's in pain now. The doctor's do not understand what is keeping her alive right now. Daughter-in-law, Tonya, is not handling this very well at all. She was excited about becoming an Aunt.

Grand-daughter, Seana, does not understand why God let the mother carry the baby to full term to just to have all this wrong with her. Also, why he allowed her to be born just to take her. I talked with her for awhile about it. I am afraid I don't know any passages from the Bible to tell her. I spoke to her from my heart, trying to reassure her of faith in the Lord, and his plan for all of us. Please help me to pray for her as well.

Please pray for Mike and Sandy Brommer as they spread the Lord’s Seed and witness to His glory while on the road today. Please pray also that the Lord will lead them to Kingdom-profitable loads to carry, and that He grants them safe passage today from Oswego, NY to Indianapolis, IN to Lansing, MI on Monday.

Please continue to pray for Billy Hamburg. He had another surgery and two more tumors were discovered. Discussion is forthcoming concerning bladder removal. Please pray for the Lord’s Hand to help him overcome his anxiety as well as the cancer.

Please pray for the family of Eugene Martin, father of David Martin and Cindy Parsons, Eugene went home to his Lord in Florida this morning. We will have a service celebrating Eugene's victory in Christ on Thursday here at Messiah.

Pastor John

Rachel Wakeman (Joe and Melody Coldwell’s neice) for whom we have been praying for recently was received home to the arms of her Lord, today.

Please pray for God to reach out and comfort Rachel’s family, especially her parents. Rachel’s funeral will be on Tues. morning at Ware Smith.
Pray for Chaplain Roger Stauffer who will be bringing God’s Word to the family and friends gathered that day.

Good Morning Church!

"This is how God showed His love among us:

He sent His one and only Son into the world

that we might live through Him."

1 John 4:9

Real love shows up.

God's love is real love. Real love is not just a feeling. It is not just an invisible truth. Real love is expressed. Real love is put into action. Real love becomes visible and audible.

Real love shows up.

"This is how God showed His love among us..."

God's real love shows up in our lives because He has actually given us His one and only Son. This is real love. Love given. Love sent. Love expressed.

1 John 4:10-11, "This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another."

You and I have received real love from God. When we simply believe this we will be able to pour this love back out to one another.

1 John 4:7, "Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God."

Because love comes from God and it is real - actually given, sent, expressed, put into action - we can now love one another.

But remember, real love shows up.

Real love is not just a feeling. It is not just an invisible truth. Real love is expressed. Real love is put into action. Real love becomes visible and audible.

And real love comes from God.

Because we have received His real love we can now love one another... really.

This is just another way of expressing our mission: helping one another live life with Jesus every day.

"This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him."

How will you show God's love to someone today? How will you express it, give it, say it, or put it into action?

You can take your spouse's hand and pray out loud with them. You can look your child in the eye and tell them how proud you are. You can go out of your way to encourage a fellow-worker who's been getting dumped on. You can tell the teacher thank you for the hours of preparation they put in. You can call a ministry leader and say, "I am ready to put my love into action. How can you use me?" You can go to your neighbor with a plate of cookies and say, "I'm sorry it has taken so long for us to meet."

Helping one another live life with Jesus every day... really.

Enjoy being His Church today!

Heaven's gates were closed
and there seemed to be no hope
for fallen man
We were prisoners of our sin
With no way to enter in
but God had a plan
The Father knew there had to be
a perfect sacrifice
So Jesus came, a cross was raised
and when He laid down His life

Wide open, wide open
They nailed His arms wide open
After three days in a cold grave
the power of sin was broken
Now with outstretched arms
He welcomes in
Everyone who trusts in Him
His nail-scarred hands hold heaven's gates wide open

For so long my eyes were closed
I couldn't see a way of hope
For someone like me
And in my despair I cried
There's got to be more to this life
Lord help me please
And the Father said
There had to be a perfect sacrifice
That's why Jesus came, a cross was raised
and He laid down His life

For every weary heart that aches
For every dream this world will break
There's a promise in its place
God has made a way

The Greatest Sin In All the World

Sunday, January 24, 2010

The Scriptures list many sins that are considered awful.

But is it possible to put one of them at the top

and call it the greatest sin of all?
