Question for the day:

What would you say has been the BC / AD moment in your life?

What can we pray with YOU about today?

Good morning,

This is just a reminder that every day, while we are studying God’s Word to add to our website, someone from our ministry, Dysmas Conduit, is holding you up before the Lord in prayer. May He greatly bless you today as you pursue His will and He is glorified through you.

God’s blessings, our love,

George & Sidney Granger

CURRENT PRAYER REQUESTS:

From Christine Babel- Henderson

My daughter in law’s niece, Harmony, was born at full term weighing 2lbs 3oz. She was born without a spine, having water on the brain, a club foot, only one valve to her heart... the Drs. said she needed some kind of surgery done because she has no spine, if she does not have it she will be in a great deal of pain. She's in pain now. The doctor's do not understand what is keeping her alive right now. Daughter-in-law, Tonya, is not handling this very well at all. She was excited about becoming an Aunt.

Grand-daughter, Seana, does not understand why God let the mother carry the baby to full term to just to have all this wrong with her. Also, why he allowed her to be born just to take her. I talked with her for awhile about it. I am afraid I don't know any passages from the Bible to tell her. I spoke to her from my heart, trying to reassure her of faith in the Lord, and his plan for all of us. Please help me to pray for her as well.

Lord Jesus, mysterious are Your ways... impossible for us to fathom. Again today we approach your throne of grace and mercy with the question "Why?" filling our hearts and attacking our minds. But, deep within us, our spirit remains settled by Your most holy Spirit as we continue to rest in the knowledge that, through Your sovereign grace, all things continue to work for good and not evil in the lives of Your saints.

We hold this mother and child up before You, sovereign Father, and ask that You fulfill Your word, Your gracious promise, to all Your children. You know Your plans, and they are not meant to harm us. Instead they are intended to give a future and a hope.
We also hold up before you Christine, Tonya and Seanna… That You might bring comfort and strength to them and reassure them that nothing bad happens that You can’t bring good from.

We know that this is but our temporary home and we ask that You take YOUR innocent infant child home to be with You, if that is Your will, quickly and peacefully -- without pain. Also, Lord Jesus, comfort and console the mother with Your peace, and allow her to feel Your love, in Jesus’ matchless Name, amen.

Please pray for Mike and Sandy Brommer as they spread the Lord’s Seed and witness to His glory while on the road today. Please pray also that the Lord will lead them to Kingdom-profitable loads to carry, and that He grants them safe passage today from Oswego, NY to Indianapolis, IN to Lansing, MI on Monday.

.

Please continue to pray for Billy Hamburg. He had another surgery and two more tumors were discovered. Discussion is forthcoming concerning bladder removal. Please pray for the Lord’s Hand to help him overcome his anxiety as well as the cancer.

1/21/10 Update on Rachel Wakeman from Pastor Stauffer and Rachel's mom, Teresa. Please continue to pray!

Rachel had another CT scan today....it is even worse than the previous one. As a health care worker, I know what we have to do, as a mother, I struggle with this difficult situation and decision. I have to rely on the facts presented to us, and do the right thing for Rachel. Our family is gathering at Rachels bedside, and I find strength in their presence. I think I am waiting and hoping, that Rachel will take the burden of making a decsion out of our hands, she is getting close. I am going to leave now, I want to spend as much time at her bedside as I can...Teresa

Lord may You, in Your Grace, take Rachel unto You and grant Your peace to upon all of the family. In Christ Jesus! AMEN!

Lynda Varner is working with a team of doctors and nurses to go down next week to provide urgent medical care for the people of Haiti, especially those our ministry partners at Ebenezer are trying to reach out to. These people are in an area about 50 miles outside the city and our most recent information indicates that no relief efforts have yet reached this area were the devastation is overwhelming.

Please pray for Lynda and the team as they are trying to make final arrangements for transportation.

Also pray that our Lord would raise up someone who can transport the medical supplies and equipment the team needs with them from Midland to Florida. If you know of someone who might be able to assist with this need, have them contact Lynda Varner or Pastor Kurt ASAP

Good morning Church!

Pastor Greg Finke

"I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

John 10:10

Why did Jesus come into our world? What was His mission?

We might say that He came to teach and heal, to have compassion on the outcast and downcast and we would be right. We might say that He came to proclaim the arrival of the Kingdom of God and to give evidence of it by performing miracles and we would be right. We might say that the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost and again, of course, that would be correct. Hopefully we would also remember that Jesus came to die on the cross and rise again for the forgiveness of our sins.

All those answers would be spot-on!

However, each of those things that Jesus came to do were not ends in themselves, but means to a greater end. Even Jesus dying on the cross and rising again to take away our sin was not an end in itself, but a means to a greater end.

And what is that greater end? Jesus died and rose to take away our sin SO THAT we could again live in the presence of the Father both now and forever. That's the greater mission of Jesus: to open up the pathway for us to again live our lives in the presence, love and life of the Father both every day and forever. This is why He came and taught and loved and healed and gave Himself on the cross.

"I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

Now, what is OUR mission? To take what we have received and share it with others. We could say it this way: Our mission is to help one another live life with Jesus every day. Jesus said it like this, "As I have loved you, so you must love one another."

How can we help one another live life with Jesus every day? What does that look like? What will people experience? How do we organize our resources and giftedness and leadership and creativity to accomplish His mission?

Good questions!

These are questions we have been wrestling to answer clearly, concisely and compellingly. We began to talk about these answers in worship [on Sunday]. If you could not be with us you can click here to listen in.

How can you help your spouse live today with Jesus? How can you help your children experience His love? Who will you interact with today that you can now see through this simple mission?

Enjoy being Church today!

And how well can your church recognize them?
