SUNDAY, APRIL 18, 2010

Question for the day:

What’s the address?

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

What can we pray with YOU about today?

Good morning,

This is just a reminder that every day, while we are studying God’s Word to add to our website, someone from our ministry, Dysmas Conduit, is holding you up before the Lord in prayer. May He greatly bless you today as you pursue His will and He is glorified through you.

God’s blessings, our love,

George & Sidney Granger

CURRENT PRAYER REQUESTS:

Please pray for Mike and Sandy Brommer as they spread the Lord’s Seed and witness to His glory while on the road today. Please pray also that the Lord will lead them to Kingdom-profitable loads to carry, and that He grants them safe passage today.

Mike Brommer is asking for the Lord’s guidance regarding their finances.

My grandson, Eric Doherty age 9 is having his adenoids taken out on Monday morning, prayers for everything to go well and for the doctors to solve his snoring and sleeping problems.

Also, I have a correction for my neighbor Don, he is going to see his oncologist not the ongolist. I asked all these in Jesus name, --Kathy

Event: Pray vigil for Huron Valley Keryx weekend #5

My neighbor Don is home and getting stronger every day, he is able to walk around the block, still needs prayers for a miracle and he sees the ongolist a week from this Monday.

Sharlene is still hanging in there and we pray she stays comfortable and when its time it will peaceful.

Also, prayers for my great-neice, Wessie Mull (9) and great-nephew, Jack Mull (8) who lost their mother Carrie Hurst due to a motorcycle accident Friday morning on US 127.*

Thank you and God's Blessings,
Kathy

*Would you please ask everyone to pray for the family of Carrie Hurst? Carrie is the mother of two of my baby cousins, Jack (8) and Wessie (9) Mull. Carrie died this morning as a result of losing control of her motorcycle on US 127. I can't even fathom the thoughts of the right words of prayer to ask for. Thank you, --Trina

WEEKENDS

Devotional thought

from the messages of Adrian Rogers

Valleys and Mountains in the Life of a Christian

BIBLE MEDITATION:
Psalm 46:1 - “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:
Did you know that it is an impossibility of geography to have a valley without a mountain? They are beautiful complements in God’s grand creation. The valley is the place of vision. It is the place of repose and reflection. The mountain is the place of discovery and a place to become strong. If you find yourself in a valley, it is because you have come down from a mountain. If you’re on a mountain, you came to that place by way of the valley.

ACTION POINT:
Are you in the valley or on the mountaintop? Read Psalm 46 about the strength of the Lord. Rest and rejoice in His strength wherever God has you right now.

Who Came to Town

Sunday, April 18, 2010

If you had a message for the political, social,

and religious leaders of the world,

who would you send to deliver it?

God chose a man from the back side of the desert,

using the foolish to confound the wise.

Amos 7:7-17

Third Vision: A Plumb Line

He showed me this: The Lord was standing there by a vertical wall with a plumb line in His hand. The Lord asked me, "What do you see, Amos?" I replied, "A plumb line." Then the Lord said, "I am setting a plumb line among My people Israel; I will no longer spare them: Isaac's high places will be deserted, and Israel's sanctuaries will be in ruins; I will rise up against the house of Jeroboam with a sword."

Amaziah's Opposition

Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent [word] to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, "Amos has conspired against you [right here] in the house of Israel. The land cannot endure all his words, for Amos has said this: 'Jeroboam will die by the sword, and Israel will certainly go into exile from its homeland.' "Then Amaziah said to Amos, "Go away, you seer! Flee to the land of Judah. Earn your living and give [your] prophecies there, but don't ever prophesy at Bethel again, for it is the king's sanctuary and a royal temple." So Amos answered Amaziah, "I was not a prophet or the son of a prophet; rather, I was a herdsman, and I took care of sycamore figs. But the Lord took me from following the flock and said to me, 'Go, prophesy to My people Israel.' "Now hear the word of the Lord. You say: Do not prophesy against Israel; do not preach against the house of Isaac. Therefore, this is what the Lord says: Your wife will be a prostitute in the city, your sons and daughters will fall by the sword, and your land will be divided up with a measuring line. You yourself will die on pagan soil, and Israel will certainly go into exile from its homeland.
