Question for the day:

Who Said:

"What do you want?"

What can we pray with YOU about today?

Good morning,

This is just a reminder that every day, while we are studying God’s Word to add to our website, someone from our ministry, Dysmas Conduit, is holding you up before the Lord in prayer. May He greatly bless you today as you pursue His will and He is glorified through you.

God’s blessings, our love,

George & Sidney Granger

CURRENT PRAYER REQUESTS:

Please pray for Mike and Sandy Brommer as they spread the Lord’s Seed and witness to His glory while on the road today. Please pray also that the Lord will lead them to Kingdom-profitable loads to carry, and that He grants them safe passage today.

Please pray for travel mercies for Christine Babel-Henderson. She will begin a 1400 mile trip home to Texas from Michigan this morning. May the Lord keep her surrounded by His angels and protected by His strong hand throughout her journey.

Please lift up Ethel Arndt, mother of Barb Arndt, who has been in the emergency room all day and has been preliminarily diagnosed with stomach cancer. Lord, give to the family wisdom and courage in moving forward and peace in knowing You will be with them every step of the way. --Pastor John

ENCOURAGEMENT FOR TODAY

Pastor Greg Finke

"Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked,

'What do you want?'"

John 1:38,

Over the last several years, I have developed a real appreciation for the questions Jesus asks. Like the one above, Jesus' questions often seem simple and even mundane. And then I try to answer them.

"What do you want?"

That seems simple enough. John the Baptist had told two of his disciples that Jesus was the Lamb of God. On hearing this, the two disciples started to follow Jesus. Jesus noticed them, turned around and asked them, "What do you want?"

Simple, right?

But then again... what DO you want?

As I try to answer that, it forces me to start prioritizing, evaluating, and getting to the bottom of my true desires. What do I want, really? What do I want more than anything else? What can I do without, and what can I not live without?

See what I mean? His simple question undoes me. It opens me up and forces me to sort out, dig deep and decide.

This question is a good one for these uncertain and anxious days. What do I really want?

Are you out of work or uncertain of what may happen in the next several weeks? Is there stress in your relationships? Are you facing medical treatment and recovery?

What do you want?

Jesus offers us some help in discovering what we really want....he one thing we should seek....the bottom line. He says in Matthew 6 that we can go ahead and want security and health and income. But it is unnecessary. In fact, He says not to worry about these things at all.

"Your heavenly Father knows that you need them."

What do I want? Here's Jesus' advice, "Seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these other things will be given to you as well."

So, what do I want... really? I want You, Jesus. I want Your Kingdom and righteousness. I want to follow You and keep my eyes fixed on You as I walk through the uncertain days ahead trusting the Father.

And how does Jesus answer?

"Come, and you will see." John 1:39.

Dear Jesus, You ask me what I want. I could want all kinds of things and miss the most important thing, the operation of Your Kingdom all around me and in all that is happening in these uncertain days. Help me to trust the Father with the things I cannot control and to seek You first throughout these days. Amen!

And when you have rediscovered the joy and peace of following your Savior, look for opportunities to help others do the same.

Enjoy living life with Jesus today!

Series: The Greatest of These

The Prominence of Love

If you hear a lie too often, you may start to believe it . . .

or at least forget the truth.

No doubt that's happened to the concept of love.

Pop culture has promoted the wrong version so much . . .

it's hard to know what the real thing looks like.

Find out the truth about love,

today on Grace to You Weekend with John MacArthur.

I Corinthians 13:1-3

Love: The Superior Way

1 If I speak the languages of men and of angels, but do not have love, I am a sounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have [the gift of] prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so that I can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 And if I donate all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
