Question for the day: Have you ever been serenaded?

What can we pray with YOU about today?

Good morning,

This is just a reminder that every day, while we are studying God’s Word to add to our website, someone from our ministry, Dysmas Conduit, is holding you up before the Lord in prayer. May He greatly bless you today as you pursue His will and He is glorified through you.

God’s blessings, our love,

George & Sidney Granger

CURRENT PRAYER REQUESTS:

Please pray for Mike and Sandy Brommer as they spread the Lord’s Seed and witness to His glory while on the road today. Please pray also that the Lord will lead them to Kingdom-profitable loads to carry, and that He grants them safe passage today.

From Lauren Gibbons:

Please pray for my oldest grandson's grandpa, Papa Bud. He was diagnosed with peritoneal mesotheleoma (cancer of the lining of the peritoneum which surrounds abdominal organs) last spring. He's been undergoing chemo but it's not working. He's planning to undergo a fairly new very invasive operation in April. They scrape the cancer cells and fill the lining with a warm chemo treatment directly in the infected area. The doctor has done 80 surgeries. Not sure the success rate, and of course there are certain risks, but with God on Bud's side, I'm trusting that he will be healed and a walking testimony for Jesus. He needs prayer for salvation/healing. Thanks so much for extending your faith along with me and the rest of the family.

We have a young man who is the son-in-law of some dear friends , Brian has been having Kidney problems and today found out he has kidney cancer and will have the kidney removed. they dont have much info about stage and etc . Please pray for Gods guidance and healing hand and on the family . They have a daughter in the Military in active duty and this will be hard for her. Thanks Margaret Maggert

Please lift Michelle’s mom up in prayer she just found out that she has breast cancer and also cancer in one of her lymph nodes. May the doctors have a clear plan of action to see Michelle’s mom through this difficult time. Ranee Tessin

Can you please add Robby Booth to the pray list. She is facing some health issues right now and asking for the doctors to have clarity in treatments for her. --Jackie

My sister and brother-in-law, Cathy & Ed Dean can use more prayers for their next step in this long journey they have been on. Ed will have a ph probe done Monday down at UofM, to determine how much acid is coming up. This will help the doctors determine if they can do his hernia surgery at the same time that they do his lung transplant--once he gets that far!

They are driving down Sunday night and staying until Tuesday whenever Ed is done. The test is Monday, but he has to go back in 24 hours for them to check it or read it or whatever they have to do, so they are staying down there. Please pray for safe travel and good weather, good roads, and pray for the test to go well. We pray that it will be God's will that the doctors can combine the 2 surgeries. Pray that all this testing comes to an end so the review board can review his case and get him on the transplant list. Ed is getting worse; he is getting a lot more tired more quickly. His oxygen level goes down, even wearing his oxygen tube, just walking from room to room at home. Please pray that his condition does not get too bad before he is able to have the lung transplant.

Pray for strength, comfort, and peace for both Cathy and Ed. Thank you.

--Barb Patrick

Thank you all so much for your prayers for my brother, Troy. His tracheotomy tube was removed today and he is going to be released this afternoon. God is sooo good!! --Wendy Kall

When God Serenades You

Micca Monda Campbell

"The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save.

He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love,

he will rejoice over you with singing."

Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV)

Devotion:

Growing up I had to watch whatever my sister wanted to watch on television because she was the oldest. She liked the black and white classics that featured Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, and Frank Sinatra to name a few. Over time, I began to enjoy them too.

I really liked the part of the movie when Dean Martin would serenade the woman he loved at her bedroom window. I thought that was so romantic! In fact, I would get a funny feeling in my stomach. Somehow, I knew deep inside that I, too, would be serenaded by some lovesick man. I didn't know when, but I was certain it was going to happen.

Well, guess what?

It never happened.

At first, I was bummed. Then, one day shortly after I had experienced tragedy in my life, and was feeling completely unloved, I came across our key verse.

"The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."

Right away, I knew God had led me to this truth. How else does a person stumble into the book of Zephaniah if not led there by God? At the time, I didn't know the book of Zephaniah existed. But it did exist, and the words on the page read like a personal note written just for me. Micca, I will rejoice over you with singing!

That's when it dawned on me. God delights in me so much that it causes Him to break out in song! Suddenly, it no longer mattered that no one else has ever serenaded me. God, Himself, serenades me. He sings to me. He sings over me and He sings about me! It's His joy to do so. Better yet, He delights in serenading you, too.

I pray that you will allow this verse to sink deep into your heart today so you'll have it when you need it. Trust me. There will be a day when you will need it. You see, we tend to believe that because we are children of God that nothing bad will ever happen to us. When the bad does happen, we believe the lie every time.

I knew it, God! I knew You really didn't love me.

Friend, that is a lie from the pit of hell. Nothing is further from the truth. God, indeed, loves you because He can't do anything less. You and I cause God's supernatural heart to skip a beat at the mere thought of us. Therefore, the next time you're feeling unloved because of some adversity in your life stop and say, "NO! That's a lie. God loves me so much that He can't help but sing about it!"

Father, I need Your loving touch today. Let Your love song wash over me and fill my heart. I release my feelings of doubt to You and rest in Your undying love, in Jesus' Name, amen.

Application Steps:

Look up each verse and memorize them. When you need to experience God's love, close your eyes and repeat them to your heart: Jeremiah 31:3; 1 John 4:16; John 15:16; Isaiah 54:10.

Reflections:

What causes you to doubt God's love?

Power Verses:

1 Corinthians 13:8, "Love never fails." (NIV)

Isaiah 54:10, "My love and kindness will not depart from you." (NIV)

If We Are the Body

Casting Crowns

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKK-vgmghi8

It's crowded in worship today
As she slips in
Trying to fade into the faces
The girls' teasing laughter is carrying farther than they know
Farther than they know

CHORUS
But if we are the Body
Why aren't His arms reaching
Why aren't His hands healing
Why aren't His words teaching
And if we are the Body
Why aren't His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way
There is a way

A traveler is far away from home
He sheds his coat
And quietly sinks into the back row
The weight of their judgmental glances tells him that his chances
Are better out on the road

CHORUS
But if we are the Body
Why aren't His arms reaching
Why aren't His hands healing
Why aren't His words teaching
And if we are the Body
Why aren't His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way

Jesus paid much too high a price
For us to pick and choose who should come
And we are the Body of Christ

Chorus (2x)
If we are the body
Why aren't His arms reaching
Why aren't His hands healing
Why aren't His words teaching
And if we are the body
Why aren't His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way

Jesus is the way

Taking a trip on the Bible Bus

James 1:3 -13

James 1:3-13 (NIV)

because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. [4] Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. [5] If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. [6] But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. [7] That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; [8] he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.

[9] The brother in humble circumstances ought to take pride in his high position. [10] But the one who is rich should take pride in his low position, because he will pass away like a wild flower. [11] For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich man will fade away even while he goes about his business.

[12] Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

[13] When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;
